Coulson Group Converting 737-300s into Firefighting Tankers

There are enough of these on the market right now, that many more conversions could follow. I am curious to know the FAA's role in determining how many sub-variants of a particular airframe is 'too many'for one carrier to use. [claimed reason for Southwest to pass these B733 down the line] Anyone have any insights to share? Cool project none the less...
yeah, that's interesting. so wn has too many types but dl and ua don't run up against the same limit? i think maybe the faa was a convenient scapegoat for a decision forced through by the wn accounting department.
I always wonder why the U.S. Forest Service/USAF/USN doesn't have a handful of large water tankers. The daily lease has got to be crazy expensive.
Still cheaper than maintaining.
i love that they used the boeing official livery. this matches the livery that the 777max will debut in.
