Trump Takes Aim at U.S. Air Traffic Control Spending (and other things)
U.S. President Donald Trump lamented what he called an out-of-date U.S. air traffic control system on Thursday, but also criticized current modernization efforts as the "wrong system" and too expensive. "I hear we're spending billions and billions of dollars, it's a system that's totally out of whack," Trump told a meeting of airline and U.S. airport executives, referring to the air traffic control system. Crap. I convinced my boss to upgrade to ADS-B early and now he wants to pull the plug. I guess I can put the equipment in the garage next to the MLS stuff! I use the MLS boxes to keep my water heater off of the garage floor.
I wonder....is there ANY AREA Trump WON'T FRIGGIN' CRITICIZE, AND YET WON'T HELP, ONLY THREATEN TO HURT?
Yes. There must be one. Somewhere.
There is no such thing as zero probability. But your question pushes that limit.

I didn't see mention of possible ATC privatization inthis article, but other coverage indicates that it was also a topic:

He will try to privatize and we will pay like most other countries fir IFR services at the least and probably landing fees as well
This coming from a guy that knows nothing about planes even though he has a few. He is flying one of the worst planes out there and "he got a great deal" on the 757, but he also got a very old gas guzzling old plane as well. Almost all airlines are getting rid of them. He thinks its "best ever"...I dont think so!
