This is the last thing that the Airlines or Ticket Price’s needs. Apparently, fuel efficiency, that the airlines strive for to reduce operating cost, is not good enough anymore.

It was only a matter of time. The EPA is moving to control every aspect of American society. They are shutting down the coal industry, carbohydrate power generation, fraudulently refining "navigable waters" to include every brook and stream and driving up the price of electricity and food production. For the average American they have become the enemy within with relation to the cost of living. This is really just "cap and trade" by executive action that was soundly defeated in Congress.

It is all about control and the spin off is to shake down the productive using the Global Warming scam...(now Climate change as we enter year 19 with no warming)...as an excuse to impose an agenda.

There is no hope to reform this agency. It must be defunded and the remnants moved from Washington to Point Barrow, Alaska with no Internet connection.

Hillary says climate change is the biggest problem facing the USA. So I guess we know her presidential agenda if elected. Say hello to your new and improved (not!) EPA.

True, but this agency is on autopilot and would still be pushing the agenda of the unelected whomever becomes POTUS. A good first step would be to remove their power to make regulations without Congressional approval rather than the current "opt out" type of oversight where they post their intentions and unless Congress actively over rules them, they become "law".

I was just thinking that if we have a pres who is really onboard with this BS then EPA will receive encouragement from the big banana and will only be emboldened to blaze new trails. Congress has been powerless so far to stop a presidential agenda.

Let's not forget that the head of the EPA is appointed by the President, so the agency's agenda is a reflection of the President's goals. The current EPA administrator, Regina McCarthy, is a Obama appointee.

Torsten...the scary part is that this women was the "Environmental Adviser" to Romney.

I'm glad I sold my business. We had plenty of EPA woes over the years. And every bit of it was pure BS.

This is from an ultra right wing source, so the truth meter isn't moving much. Oh, and don't forget that it was Nixon who chartered the EPA.

Regardless of the news source (Conservative, Liberal or otherwise) EPA is considering regulation. Since the news source has been brought into question. Here is the direct link to the EPA regarding the matter: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/aviation.htm#ghg

It is about time. No, airline business does not trump the right to live with clean air (and no business should trump the right to live with clean water. That is ridiculous.)

If the airlines play it wisely, they can reduce emissions and come out of this on top of the game. Reducing emissions (and noise) is an investment that will pay off in the long run. Pity that shareholders work against systems change and that regulation even has to be drafted.

Airlines are not flying to reduce emissions. O'Hare has gone in the other direction, actually, with airlines using MORE fuel to use O'Hare and increasing emissions and noise. It's a mess.

We have enough regulations... The are going to far... EPA is killing us.

If you can't figure out how to fly with reduced emissions? You are killing yourselves or killing others. Sorry. It's being done elsewhere. It is not impossible. It is a design problem.

All I am saying is we have enough regulations to worry about without adding more.

EPA is a bunch of Idiots.. The Liberal WAY to raise the cost of tickets for something that is not going to make any difference...
