Three Rare World War II Planes at GMU
"Wings of Freedom Tour" coming to KGMU on Friday, October 18th. The Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” Bomber and P-51 Mustang Fighter will arrive at the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) along with the vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress ”Nine O Nine". According to the Collings Foundation website, their Mustang is "the world’s only fully dual control P-51C".
My father flew in B-17 and B-24 in WW II. I would love to go see them with him. But he is now 95 and just "hanging in there"
I thought there where a couple of B17s flying in the world, one B24 and many P51s. Not a sole P51, get it right, right rudder...
