Qantas paints new Boeing in Aboriginal-themed 'Dreamtime' livery

Enviado

"Qantas is reviving its tradition of eye-catching Boeing jets painted in Aboriginal art, with the first of its type in over a decade taking to the skies in November. The airline's new Boeing 737-800 will be painted in its Dreamtime colours at Boeing's factory in Seattle before being flown to Australia to enter service on domestic routes." For those who never saw these Qantas planes in reality, they were truly stunning! (www.ausbt.com.au) Más...

Nalanji Dreaming was my favorite, can't wait to see elements of these designs flying again.

Stunning work and so important for our Aboriginal citizens. It is great to see them recognized on Qantas aircraft. I remember the first time they did it, loved it then, love it now.

I was honored to see and photograph the Boeing 747-400 'Wunala Dreaming' here in Dallas. It had a fan club and so sad to see her retired.

The aircraft (VH-OEJ) is still in service, it was just repainted into the standard livery.

I know it was repainted on a -438ER (VH-OEJ), but the original Wunala Dreaming was a standard -438 (VH-OJB). I actually managed to get a ride on her from LHR-SIN.

Nice!!! -438ERs would always have been operating the DFW services referred to by Elizabeth. As you can see my profile picture is a photo of when I saw OEJ in LHR. I have seen Nalanji (the 743 - VH-EBU) in its derelict state at Avalon and VH-VXB (the current 738) around Australia on multiple occasions.

I wish Qantas would bring back Wunala Dreaming on one of their A380's.
