Another fuel dumping......where, who's lake this time ???
When there is a significant chance of loss of life or major property damage you dump the fuel. The fuel mostly consists of carbon and hydrogen and evaporates rather fast. Most will not strike the ground. That portion that lands on water does not mix with the water, but floats on top and evaporates. Certainly there is a danger to wildlife, and perhaps crops, but that is small compared to a fireball on the runway.
No one takes off with the intention of dumping the fuel, but once an emergency is evident you do the needful to save life and property.
