Spirit Airlines: "More Bang For Your Buck" Secret Service Sale to Colombia
The airline known for using the foibles of Charlie Sheen, Tiger Woods and former Congressman Anthony Weiner for cheeky ad campaigns that are often as offbeat as they are off-color is at it again. This time, Spirit Airlines is taking a cue from the recent Secret Service sex scandal by offering a “More Bang for your Buck” sale promoting flights to Cartagena, Colombia, as well as domestic destinations. They have one playing off of the GSA thing on their site too.
That's the spirit!! Rest assured this wasn't the groups first rodeo.
The guy who came up wih this absurd ad -obviously having an IQ of less than 50 points- did a hell of a diservice to his airline, you can bet that the are going to fly at 25% capacity or less for quuite sometime: no full blooded Colombian is going to fly with them.
Why is that?
Can`t you see that this ad promotes sex-tourism which is strictly forbidden in many countries including Colombia, and on top of that it is an insult to Colombian women. If you own shares in Spirit you can use them as toilet paper.
News reports prostitution is legal In Columbia. And because some US government employees acted dumb as usual what bearing does it have on Colombians? If the fares are cheap they will buy the tickets just like everyone else. I don't think Spirit really expects to sell tickets just because there are whorehouses in Columbia. For the price of the ticket you can visit one in your hometown.
It is obvious that you miss the subtle niceties of other countrie´s culture. If Vegas flaunts shamelessly scantly clad broads is because that is what Vegas is all about, both sides of The Strip and beyhond, but that is not what Cartagena or Colombia for that matter is all about.
Apparantly the powers at Spirit think these tongue n cheek ads are cute. I doubt it impacts business much either way. I'll stay out of the politics of cathouses.
BTW, the subtle niceties of which you speak could include what you are speaking against. I'm sure that's how "all the presidents men" we're thinking. Lol
What happens in Vegas doesn't necessarily stay in Vegas anymore
