I still don't fully grasp WHO at the EU gets the money (what Department, etc) and WHAT is the money going to be used for? I don't get how using the money is going to reduce emissions. More than likely, it will line someones pocket!

Carbon credits....a tremendous cash grab! very well thought out now let's see if the Chinese will play. I'm thinking not at least not until they can recoup most of it. Better yet....I have some spare trees to rent if anyone wants to "offset" their carbon footprints.

China apparently see's the emissions scheme for what it is, a tax. Another scheme to transfer wealth and doesn't do anything to curb emissions.

China does not give a damn about emissions. They burn sulphur coal to make electricity and on same days of high pressure the smog is so bad that airliners from the west are landing on miniums.

Can someone explain how the airlines get taxed on a total segment if only part of a flight commutes through EU airspace?
