A $64 million runway for no one in Alaska?
Remember Alaska's "Bridge to Nowhere," a $400 million span that was supposed to connect Ketchikan to its airport on sparsely inhabited Gravina Island? The project gained infamy in 2005 as a waste of taxpayer dollars and the funds earmarked for it were withheld. The 8,000 residents of Ketchikan continue to be connected to their airport by ferry. Just to clear the air, I like Mr. Bookout choose to live in the country sort of (2 hours to Nashville for airline service) because I do not want or want to pay for city services. I hold no ill will toward Natives of Alaska. If you feel you need more services move closer to them. They can only be provided locically if there is enough tax base to pay for them. The every little shithole village i referred to includes the lower 48.
