Plane returns after fistfight between passengers
United plane returns to airport accompanied by military jets after passenger fistfight (finance.yahoo.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
So as long as the flight deck was secure they should've just pressed on and saved alot of money and headaches for everyone. Two words Taser/Restaints. Or how about decompression just cover all possibilities and suspected passengers. I'd rather take a risk of Hypoxia than a crazy passenger loose.
Those seats do required regular re-adjustments, which is why some aren't tight enough and recline too far. The passenger should have pushed the overhead button for a flight attendant to possibly be re-seated.
If Federal Air Marshals were on that flight, they are allowed to take turns sleeping, if 2 are awake. But their primary duty is to protect the flight deck and take down terrorists, not break-up passenger squabbles. It could be a planned diversion to take the FAM's attention away from a more serious threat.

Imagine the carnage that could have taken place if these idiots were allowded guns, knifes, boxcutters and mace in there carry on luggage. Headlines would have probably read something like this. "Plane missing over the Atlantic Ocean after pilot repoted knife and gun fight between passengers."
air marshells where were they when they were needed sleeping?????

Don't worry. With the current trend the airlines will be eliminating seat recline/lowering on all flights in order to stuff in a few more rows.
A couple of times when I used to fly four segments a week every week, I had bent down to retrieve something from my carry on bag beneath the seat in front of me only to have some inconsiderate passenger SLAM the seatback into my head. I don't understand people who don't recline the seat back carefully and slowly after checking to see what's behind them.. I've thought more than once that a length of rope would be handy, but the TSA doesn't allow that stuff on board. Hmmm.. Should have used a belt...
