Passengers Forced to Get Out and Push Broken Airplane Off Runway
The CRJ7 plane, with 69 passengers and seven crew members on board, had just flown from Guilin in the south of China, to Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province. The plane landed safely but then died before it could taxi to the arrivals terminal. The staff could not push the airplane on its own, so the passengers were asked to pitch in. Wasn't aware the CRJ700 held 7 crew members? I have to flag this as BS, and a load of it. There's a neat invention, it's called a TUG, every airline owns at least a few at each airport. I've seen 10 rampers push back a fully loaded CRJ from the gate, not 7 crew members and 69 PAX. BS
I must concur with jetmat. The first thing that came to my mind was "what were they pushing on?" There is nothing really to push against on most aircraft. If there is, it has a warning on it saying pretty much don't touch it. I have pushed a cheyenne 2xl with 2 other people and they took about 10 minutes to get it to move 5 inches. Too many questionable things about this.

A Shandong Airlines Canadair CRJ-700, registration B-3080 performing flight SC4752 from Guilin to Zhengzhou (China) with 69 passengers and 7 crew, suffered a hydraulics failure taking the nosewheel steering system out while on approach to Zhengzhou. After a smooth landing the airplane had to stop on the runway, but could not be towed off the runway.
30 airport workers needed about 2 hours to manually push the airplane off the runway.
