Boeing 737-700 (N7820L)

When I positioned here in the NTZ between 16R and 16L, I initially had concerns because the sun was going down just a bit to the left of this view which was going to create a strong backlighting situation. However, a few adjustments of the M settings to brighten up the shaded sides of the inbounds (which were facing me as each aircraft using 16R went past) served to decrease the "silhouetting" and resulted in good clean captures. Of course, with the wide-open light settings, I was very careful not to trigger the shutter for each brief instant when, while panning along as the birds came by, the camera was aimed directly at the sun . Overall, in over 90 minutes of clicking from this angle, the strong sunlight only caused me to lose seven shots (and no damage to the camera), so I was way happy with the location, and I'm going back to it again next month.

Howdy, Dave, and Thanx. Was a bit difficult ... they would shoot past me and within just a couple of seconds, as I spun to stay on them, the lighting changed dramatically because the setting sun went from in front of my left shoulder to coming from behind my right shoulder. It was a challenge that I enjoyed. If you have a sec or two tomorrow, check back in the evening. I'm going to post two, but because I'm hosting a visiting spotter during the day, I'll post one very early before I leave and the other later in the day when I get back home. Touching down only a few yards away; the wonderful aroma of burning rubber was all around (lol).
