Heathrow 13 to be sentenced
The 13 activists who cut through a perimeter fence and chained themselves to Heathrow’s northern runway are likely to become the first climate change protesters to be jailed in the UK when they are sentenced this morning, despite the support of prominent politicians. With all all due respect to the deluded individual known as btweston, they destroyed property, trespassed in a very hazardous area, interfered with a business, disrupted air travel, inconvenienced hundreds if not thousands of innocent individuals, cost several companies lots of money, and all because they thought they were above the law and had a right to do as they pleased whether it was right or not. As hard headed as they are, I'm sure prison time will not change them at all. If you were on the receiving end of their protests, as stated by Cal Keegan, you might be singing a different tune. I doubt it though. You would probably jump off the plane and join them.
Good....Sick of these hand wringing bed wetting tree huggers..
They endangered the lives of the people on the flights that had to divert. What right do they have to face airliners to divert? Mere jail time is too lenient. Perhaps they should do airliner waste tank servicing for a few months as a bonus.
At least they have to do community service. They will be benefiting the community for the first time in their lives.

When they decided to do a CRIMINAL endeavor even with the best of intentions what they did was still a CRIME. As was often repeated on the US TV crime show,"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Say I wonder if any of those sympathetic politicians looking for votes will volunteer to do the 3 to 7 years they will get ?
5-10 years, depending on who was the instigator
