United Airlines to Push Up Boeing 747 Retirement to 2017

Many of the 744's are being retired because of operating costs not aircraft life by the airlines but might be a good investment for the Air Force taking the spares off the airline's hands as well. This new Administration is very likely to have a new cost conscious attitude that it needs to look at this cost vs shiny new aircraft cost/upgrade and maintenance of old aircraft/price of chartering.
