Qatar FINALLY takes delivery of first Airbus A380 this week

Qatar Airways will begin flying the Airbus A380 this week, closing the chapter on a series of delays which have marred the superjumbo's debut with the Gulf carrier. Airbus will hand over the keys to the first of ten A380s at a ceremony at its Hamburg factory this Tuesday, September 16, with the plane's delivery or 'ferry' flight to Doha leaving Hamburg on the morning of Thursday September 18. They are right to complain about the fit and finish, but I'm afraid it is all down hill from here. al Baker will soon tire of the fuel bill for this thirsty giant, whilst the passengers get going on Boeing.

The easiest seat to book will be on an A380 to LHR or CDG in 1st.
