Well yes, what we have as with inflation are the second and higher order reverberations of the stupidity of governmental Covid policies that not only did not stop the virus but as i interpret the overall data (longitudinal variations in incidence and mortality rates) actually made things far worse that they otherwise would have been if the only measures taken were isolated to the highest risk groups. Medicine if full of examples of things that were ASSERTED to be true, HAD to be true, MUST be true - but turned out NOT to be true and in many cases when looked at in comprehensive longer term manner were proven to have actually caused overall harm rather than what some declared as locked-in obvious benefit. Such has been this shamefully preposterous masking especially in public spaces that for a wide variety of reasons some obvious some not (to the uninformed) convey, in the aggregate, NO additional risk of disease transmission. The premise is that aircraft are grossly contaminated and the pure pristine passengers will get covid and hundreds of other viruses, bacteria, and fungi but not if everything is sanitized. Not surprising at all, mass vaccination of course as you might suspect, as mass requirements for an antibiotic would do, selects out resistant strains. That is one reason why mass vaccinations should not.be touted as a magical solution, and why in this 21st century we should be using modern methods to identify those small specific subpopulations that actually might benefit from a vaccine because the VAST majority do not and will. not.
