Its now been located on the island, and sad to say all 7 aboard passed away due to the event RIP.
Mt. Waialeale is one of the wettest places on earth (450 inches per year). It has lousy weather. It also peaks at 5000 feet, dropping to the ocean within 25 miles. I've only seen the summit once after numerous trips to Kauai. This would probably be the one place I wouldn't take a helicopter tour. All it would take is one strong downdraft, and a helicopter would get slammed into the ground. May their souls RIP
article posted is a few days lateer than the news...of the 7 on board the helicopter,it is reported all were killed..supposedly the helicopter ran into a tree covered and probably misty mountain side..may they rest in peace..the past few weeks have been filled with small plane crashes,all with fatalaties,and then there was the one on Russia..
