Houston Airports Closed; Major Impact on United, Southwest Operations
Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) are closed because of severe flooding in Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, significantly affecting United Airlines and Southwest Airlines. More than 5,000 flight cancellations in the US are estimated as a result of the hurricane so far. (atwonline.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
this storm is the most serious as far as damage and area in history..just watch the news (if you have any kind of power or device)and you will see what is happening..hobby airport has flooding on the runways per reports, and the areas all around booth hou and iah are severly flooded..if you cannot get planes in to get passengers out,the logical thing is to close down..ike closed down the airports, but that was only for one day and the flooding was not as it is now...
They are trying to clean up and back to normal next week.
