#9=Alva, OK. How they got that picture and tried to pass it off as Tibet is beyond me.

I thought that airport looked familiar.

I don't think Tibet has that much flat land in the whole country LOL and it sure ain't 3.5 miles. You would think that maybe an article like this would use regular airports that the general public is familiar with that sees big iron every day rather than all these bug smasher strips that most folks will never see. Just Sayin'.

The photo in this article for Qamdo Bamda Airport isn't right.

And yet another list from someone who has never arrived at any of these destinations in the left front seat. I would swap #'s 2 & 10 for Aspen any time. #10 is bug smasher specific. If you haven't done ASE, don't comment, if you have and don't see the level of difficulty, you haven't done it in IMC with light to moderate icing conditions and doing the full approach from DBL. By the By, those icing conditions aren't always forecast. One might assume there are clouds, it is cold, dah de dah. ##it happens.

Agreed. I used to fly into ASE a few dozen times a year and never understood why EGE always made the lists when ASE didn't. EGE is cake. I've never been to an airport where I have missed more approaches due to weather that can change in the time it takes to go from the FAF to the MAP. Visual approaches there are a blast. 4,000FPM descent with the TAWS going apeshit for the win!
