Heathrow closed after engine fire leads to an emergency landing
Looks like a British Airways A318 or A319. A witness says it was an A319 headed for Oslo. "Both runways are currently closed. All passengers & crew have been safely evacuated from an aircraft which is on the northern runway." "Air traffic controllers said the airport was closed to all arrivals following the incident, which happened just after 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET)." Clearly, the use of the video camera in violation of the electronics ban blew the cowling off the engine. Another clear cut example of why the ban needs to be enforced.

I read that on BBC early this morning. The pilot knew of the problem, informed his passengers, and took appropriate actions. I noted that BBC did use data from FlightAware, and gave proper credit.
Everybody knows about the fr..ken latch cowl issue.
The story gets better every time it's told. I suppose a week from now the media will be telling us that the engines ate the cowlings because Ronald McDonald had lunch at Taco Bell.
