Frontier did it in the 80{s to Ft Collins, Boulder, and Greeley Colorado, near Denver. Then America West did it in
Phoenix to Mesa and Scottsdale I believe. Worked just like a connecting flight. Bags were checked to destination, but leaving the hub airport the bus dropped passengers in front of terminal to pass thru security, while the bags delivered to the ramp
