Remember Rocky Mountain flying Denver to Aspen one day. West winds blowing Otter backwards. Miss those days of 580’s and Otter. Great plane for short fields all over the world.

Ahhh, Rocky Mountain Scareways and the vomit comet from Cheyenne to Denver. Really short takeoff roll into the headwind, and a really long landing at Stapleton because they couldn't get it on the ground.

I recall taking a flight on Suburban Airways (OAG abbr UQ) from JFK to Allentown in about 1978. Boarded at the ticket desk, then walked to the Otter parked next to the TWA terminal. Only one other passenger. Took off and flew around the south end of Manhattan *below* the top of the WTC towers. Fun and memorable.

I used to love it when flying the DHC-6 into LAX. It was always fun when they asked us to slow to minimum approach speed. LOL

"The -300G will join the production line along with the currently produced -400 Twin Otter variant. Production will be handled by Viking Air Ltd. The production of the -300G Twin Otter will take place in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, and will create 80 to 91 Canadian jobs in these provinces. According to De Havilland, this will allow the company to "...grow its footprint in Canadian aerospace..."

Always wanted one (way, way out of my budget) and thought it would be great to modify the interior to make it a flying RV for camping at out of the way airports and air strips. Ahhh....good ol' fantasies can be fun.

I HAVE NOT SEEN ON OF THOSE FOR A WHILE,NOR FLOWN ON ONE..WHAT I REMEMBER WAS KIND OF A NOISY FLIGHT WITH UNNCOMFORTABLE SEATS AND A BUMPY RIDE!OF COURSE THAT WAS ON SHORT TRIPS AND COMMUTERS WERE ALL STILL USING PROPS..!

Up here in Northern Saskatchewan we use them all the time. Slow, rough but can land and take off almost anywhere you can clear a few trees.
