@avionik99. The issue is not whether the offer is provable as the most "generous" for Canadian narrowbody pilots, but whether it is adequate to stem the outflow of WestJet pilots to other companies, which are paying more. This metric is the metric of choice for an OBJECTIVE read on whether the offer is adequate. The commercial piloting job involves a lot of time and money to gain the required certifications and background and carries expectations of compensation and lifestyle commensurate with the early sacrifices one had made together with the extrinsic value of current contributions. These pilots are not any more greedy than you are when angling for a better position, better pay, and more lifestyle accommodation. Your wording shows more disregard for others’ situations than knowledge of the world.

He's just a bigoted elitist snob. I'd take Poorfolk WV any day over feces, needle and homeless strewn San Fran.

I can see both sides of the story here... But in a long run... Both Sides will lose... It is a No Win Scenerio!

"WestJet management said it has made a “generous” contract proposal that would make its first officers and captains the highest-paid narrowbody pilots in Canada"

Highest paid narrowbody pilots in all of Canada and still not good enough for these greedy pilots?
They want US wages while living in Canada?? Thats like people living in Poorfolk WV wanting San Francisco area wages lol. No sympathy here as they truly have an Outstanding offer on the table!

That's one of the dumbest things I've read here, and that's saying a lot! Canada isn't some bottom rung third world country we're talking aboot. Not only are the economics up there quite similar to down here cost of living wise, they also enjoy paying much higher taxes on average because of their healthcare and social programs. So why shouldn't airline pilots in Canada earn at least something similar to US pilots for doing the same job?

If the worker in Poorfolk WV is doing the identical work on the identical airframe, the pay should be the same. A work-at-home Poorfolkian working for a San Fran tech co should make the same as his San Fran counterpart. To say otherwise is foolish at best and ignorantly bigoted at worst.
