There has to be more to this story... Only one engine had problems and they could not get back to the airport??? Going to be interesting to see the final answer!

First thing that comes to mind is Jet-A in a 421. Wrong truck to the plane or wrong fuel in the truck. Either way, it should be easy to find out. Glad all are OK.

It was a single engine Failure the way that I was reading it. it appeared to be a single engine failure, No one ever mentioned the 2nd engine shutting down. It would be rare for both wings to be fueled with the wrong fuel... but then again the bad fuel many not have gotten to the engine yet... Another thought is water in the fuel with bypassing a good walk around inspection. They could have been a rush! which is not a good thing to do with planes.
