Southwest Airlines launches its Hawaii service

Southwest Airlines on March 17 operated its first scheduled flight to Hawaii from the Mainland. Flight WN 6808, a 5.5-hour nonstop flight from Oakland, arrived in Honolulu with the traditional water cannon salute and leis. The new route is operated with its Boeing 737-800 ETOPS.
