Southwest and American pilots forced to abruptly rethink their take on Boeing MAX
Pilots at Southwest Airlines and American Airlines were feeling the aftereffects of operational whiplash as a tense week in airline industry ended Friday with all Boeing MAX 8 and MAX 9 aircraft remaining grounded in the United States by order of President Donald Trump and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). So does the Max8 and 9 have a specific type certificate or is a "differences training) issue / endorsement?
Are the "MAX" versions now totally FBW like the B777 models or a combination of cables and pulleys supplemented by hydraulics and electronic controls?
