DOT Approves Norwegian Air US Flights

The US Department of Transportation has approved Norwegian Air's application for a foreign carrier permit, allowing it to launch flights from the US to EU countries. Interesting PR article.

Tentative approval in April brought out a number of interested parties.
USA uses the term 'contested':

Norwegian Air International (NAI) appears to be using it's Irish subsidiary for the permit similar to shipping's 'flag of convenience'. Aircrews are to be 'rented' out of a Singapore firm.

So, do you have an Irish firm whose management speaks Norwegian flying planes whose pilots speak one of a number of Asian languages?

Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Management really doesn't understand the views of the rank and file."
