Air New Zealand denies woman from boarding heavy Tongan flight
Air New Zealand refused to let a woman board her flight to Tonga because the aircraft had reached its upper weight limit. Post doesn't say how many other pax were unable to travel due to aircraft weight restrictions but I imagine there were quite a few! This is one of the unfortunate by-products of air travel. Weather/aircraft performance does play a significant part in the overall safety of the flight. Usually in a case like this the airline offers confirmation on the next flight and/or financial remuneration.
Damn those islanders weigh a lot or bring too much baggage. Check in early to avoid this
