BAA Hopes To Avert Strike At U.K. Airports

Managers at the British airports company BAA are attempting to avert a ground crew strike at six airports after less than half of the 6,185 union members cast ballots giving Unite the authority to call a job action. BAA officials said they were open to meeting with labor leaders over the weekend or at Monday session of ACAS, a U.K. organization that aids in settling disputes.
