people fly X-wing on a WX ballon and it falls close to jet at cruise!
This is a very cool video from some Star Wars fans, but I think they went too far! Did this put people's lives in danger? Maybe I am wrong, but if you watch this video at 5:40-43 the object free falls dangerously close to a jet at cruise. Even if this is a military jet it still does not justify the premise. I honestly don't know if they had legal permission to do this (they've never responded), but it still does not make it better! Is this wrong? What do you think? (m.youtube.com) Más...

Looking at the beginning of the video it appears that the was added to a standard "small" weather balloon package. Part of the colleges meteorology masters level course work and study, is my guess. The US sends up many of these weather balloons every day. I believe they are still scheduled launches and are filed with the FAA. The packages can be several times larger, and some stay aloft for days. They free fall back to earth. But the safety approach has been basically big sky.
