Looks like there are only 3 left running right now. Mexico City Atlanta and Boston routes from CDG
Was Airbus even around when Boeing introduced the first 747's? If not they have certainly closed the gap rapidly.
Think so but it was the A300 era long before FBW. Airbus seems to have cleaned up at the Paris Airshow!

'Air France is the only airline I know that uses the upper floor of their 744 as economy cabin. I often could get a seat up there, makes for a quiet, comfortable overnight flight to Paris. Now they mostly use their older A340 or their high capacity B777 with 10 abreast seating and that is quite a drop in comfort level.
