Garuda looks to expand fleet with Boeing 787-9s, 737 MAX 8s

Garuda Indonesia is eyeing off 30 Boeing 787-9s and up to 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8s to renew and expand its global fleet, and in addition to Garuda’s 50-strong ‘intent to order’ from October last year, being for 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8s. Combined, that would allow the airline to eventually replace its entire Boeing 737-800 fleet, with ab added option of replacing its existing A330-200s, A330-300s and Boeing 777s with the Dreamliners – or to run them alongside the next-gen bird.
