Having been a paying passenger on Mesaba, Delta did the right thing. Bu-Byeee, Mesaba.
Thank you for nothing.

How unfortunate that Delta didn't just shut them down. Not at all impressed with the customer treatment. (I couldn't use the word service. There isn't any.)

I don't know Frank. I will agree that Mesaba was not the best regional to fly on, but Compass has amazing service and a VERY comfortable aircraft. You cannot beat flying on a EMB175. They are far superior and roomier than a CRJ any day.

Joel: No complaints about the Mesaba equipment. My problem was with the people.
As for Compass, I have no knowledge of them.

Well I flew on Mesaba last year and I have to concur with Frank M. They had the absolutely mimimum crew and people of any airline I've ever flown and without a doubt when I came home last year from flying with them i sent them a e-mail and a snail mail to the CEO and never got a response so go figure and on top of that the FAA should not let these big airlines run theses regional lines inasmuch as look what happened up in Buffalo last year and its not going to end there that's for sure. As to Compass never flew qwith them but I've heard several stories from others that have and they all said they would Never ever fly with them again. So some more people have be heard from....

for someone who flies delta connection all the time, this is just a further streamline of the northwest merger, having all 4 regionals, i can say the do a great job...usairways has really unloaded many prior mainline routes to its regionals. the E concourse is charlotte, is amazingly huge, and u can tell by the desinations, that something was going on where they have figured out the outsourcing of many older domestic mainline routes, planes like the CRJ-900, and EMB-175 and EMB-190 having that magic 75-100 seat cap, and range, and similar cruising speed, and ceiling as bigger mainline jets...also all CRJs and the newer EMB-170,175 and 190 have winglets that increase efficiency, and save fuel lowering cost. the FAA needs to completely ensure the parent companies of the regionals have better maintenence records, and training for pilots. more importantly, regionals dont pay well for captains for FOs, and if the airlines are going to outsource they need to ensure if their name is on the side of the plane, they share the responsibilty that the carrier is just tight a ship as the mainline it contracts for...delta has really been streaming its ops....and having flown it all from 175 (compass) to a the crj-100,200,700,750, and 900 and even the trusty old saab 340s on messaba and pinnacle, they seem to understand these issues reflect on them...lets hope everyone understands there is no room for error...
