Bombardier further delays C Series entry to second-half 2015
Bombardier Inc. is delaying the entry-into-service of its new C Series jet – initially set for September of 2014 – to the second half of 2015. The change – although widely expected – is a setback for the Montreal-based aerospace manufacturer, as it could further slow the pace of orders from airlines and result in major budget increases, thus putting a greater strain on the company’s cash resources. Shortly before that announcment, Bombardier received a firm order for 16 new-generation CS300 jets for SaudiGulf Airlines, a deal worth about US$1.21 billion at list prices before options.
