787-9 makes first flight

The 787-9 is the stretched version of the 787-8, seating up to 40 passengers over the smaller one. It is 20 feet longer, although it is not the longest variant of the Dreamliner family — the upcoming 787-10 takes the title. The aircraft currently has 388 firm orders.
