I thought they would first use a probe to discharge the static electricity that builds up from the rotor blades.

Wow! Those Taliban don't stand a chance. I'll bet it takes them a lot longer to load their choppers. We should be out of there in no time . . .
seems needlessly dangerous. Land alongside, crawl underneath and hook up. Later video shows the tethers are long enough. Any benefit to hot loading like that? (besides quickness)
That is how it happens everyday in theater. The military is not without risk.
