Another day, another stupid airline fee. This one is courtesy of repeat offender Spirit Airlines. Now passengers on the budget airline will pay an extra $5 to have an agent print out their boarding passes at the airport. (money.msn.com) Más...

Ryan Airlines implemented a similar fee quite a while ago...encouraging online checkin.

Is this ever going to end? You keep thinking that they can't top the last bout of nonsense and they do. Don't use Ryan as an example unless you have talked to some ex passengers.

I don't like getting nickeled and dimed....but checking in at the airport is unnecessary these days. Why not check in online? It costs the airline more money to maintain the whole check-in infrastructure at the airport and that results in higher costs for everyone.

When does it end? It's getting out of hand. I'm just waiting for the CO2 emission fee, for breathing the air on the flight.

How secure is checking in online??? The airline never sees anyone face to face BEFORE they are given access to the gate areas with a boarding pass...Sure they have to get passed TSA, but we all know how well TSA works...
Check-in infrastructure? If I am gonna spend more money on an airline ticket, Id much rather it be to pay for actual interaction with someone I check in with than paying for seats or baggage or anything else airlines can cook up to charge you for, where is the savings there???....I hate self check in kiosks, cold and impersonal. Id rather speak to a person. Too much technology is ruining ever facet of our existence..
