F-4S Phantom II “Black Bunny” Arrives at Castle Air Museum
After a multi-year fundraising operation, and the cooperation of the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona, a unique example of the McDonnell-Douglas Phantom II arrived at the Castle Air Museum in Atwater, California. This being F-4S BuNo.155539, the last example of the breed to have flown with Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Four (VX-4), better known as “The Evaluators.” (warbirdsnews.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I saw this plane at Pt Mugu in the1980s. I should have a picture some where in my archives.
As a former F-4 jock it's great to see another F-4 saved, especially such an iconic one. Sorry to say not many still exist. If I had won the $1.5 billion lottery I would be buying one today !
The number and variety of aircraft stored at AMARC is amazing. I live in Tucson and it tough to not stare as you dive by.

great museum... don't know how this little town in remote California did it but lotsa great planes
Cool, but they could have picked up the already restored 145310 from the other end of CA in French Valley. It's been waiting for a new home for several years.
Nice history lesson.
