JetBlue halts flights at 4 airports as deep freeze bears down on Northeast
JetBlue Airways, recovering from heavy weekend delays and getting ready for a deep freeze in the Northeast, took the extraordinary step Monday of grounding flights for 17 hours at four of the busiest airports in the country. The shutdown, which covers the three major New York airports and Boston’s Logan, will take effect at 5 p.m. ET Monday, the airline said in a statement. JetBlue said it would ramp up service again at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday and expects to be fully operational again by 3 p.m. “We… (usnews.nbcnews.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I'm so glad I found a site with someone talking about what's going on with JetBlue. While I'm well aware of the weather delays, this seems to be something more. My flight has been cancelled 4 times, and I'm still stuck in Tampa, Fl. I've been told at the airport that the plane crews aren't in the right areas, and they don't have people to fly the planes. That definitely seems like a management issue. They are offering no apologies or compensation. I'm totally appalled by what I've seen from JetBlue this past weekend.
me too :) I don't know if this site is an appropriate place but when I first posted here about the cancellations there was absolutely no word from JetBlue or the press about it, so I was trying to spread the word. I was lucky with my family and made it home after only 2 days - but many aren't as lucky and I care about them.
sorry for typos, typing too fast :)
My opinion this is based on a multitude of factors, one of which was their need to reposition aircraft and crews.
I agree - weather surely contributed to this in a HUGE way (I bet it would've been a smooth transition to the new rules if the weather hadn't happened) but the other carriers records of getting in and out while jetblue cancelled filghts shows that something else was going on. over 48hrs, 38 flights sched from SJU to JFK - 21 JB,11 DL, 6 AA. JB cancelled 10, Delta 1, AA none
It utterly amazes me how after being a pilot for more than 30 years now - 20 of which has been as a Professional Pilot, (In layman's terms, that's how I earn my paycheck) just how many "bad apples" on these forums bash each other with uncalled for and very rude comments! If you cannot say anything nice to other patrons of this site, then PLEASE, PLEASE pay your back dues and REJOIN "ProPilotWorld.com" and dish out your immature bashing there! Believe me, there are many, many much more highly experienced pilots there rather than here, that will more than gladly take on your childish vituperations such as "Troll or "Twit" that you dish out to others here after they post a comment that does not live up to your "misplaced" level of expertise! Do us all a favor and get lost! This is a public forum - a place for ALL (pilots and non-pilots alike) to express their opinions on Aviation related news and not a "dart board" for the lesser informed "Sir bentwing60".....Thank You.....:-)
