Plane crashes into 2 houses in East Haven
At least two homes have been damaged from a plane crash in East Haven, authorities said. The town's mayor said three are missing after, two `might have been young children.' The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m.on or near Charter Oak Ave. That is north of Tweed-New Haven Airport, along the approach for a runway. An FAA official told the Associated Press that the multi-engine plane had departed Teterboro, New Jersey, and crashed while approaching Tweed.… (www.ctpost.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
A very sad accident. A successful father trying to help a young son into a successful life both parish along with two innocent children on the ground. My prayers go out for all involved. We may never know what actually happened because this type of aircraft does not carry the black (orange) boxes that are so often mentioned in aircraft accidents. What we do know is that the aircraft impacted inverted out of control. To get this way from normal flight so fast has three main possibilities; wake turbulence, VMC rollover, or stall spin with a snap over. I haven't heard of any other larger aircraft in the area that would have generated a wake but it is possible around that airport. A VMC rollover would have generated much noise from the operating engine and witnesses state their was none but witnesses often get things wrong. The aircraft was reported to be circling to land. This can be a classic setup for a stall spin. You can get in too close while being low and slow and get an overwhelming desire to rudder it around to get lined up and then bad things happen. Finally, there are the one-in-a-million strange things that can happen and leave no evidence and no one alive to say it happened.
The hard left rudder makes your third option the likeliest, especially going low and slow just feet from the runway. There were eyewitness accounts of the plane spiraling, and it did impact inverted.
They'll look for and try to rule out mechanical causes for the weird engine sound/ crash, etc. But the explanation that several aviators have observed as most likely seems the best match for the elements of the scenario that have come to light so far, and in the end seems the most likely cause.

Too bad and too sad. What was the orientation/training of pilot/s like? Were they not American ? How could/did they make a mistake ?

Honestly, what I have gathered through this portal is that Americans make the best pilots, and best pilots do not make mistakes. Period.

The term is racist not raciest. American is not a race.
In the context of racism/raciesm at the international level American/ German/French/ Indian is a race. So it will depend.
The nation of Islam uses it quite regularly in referring to the "AMERICA INFIDELS". Do not criticize them or you may be targeted too as offending Allah.
Islam is a religion, and not a nation. Yes it spreads over many nations. We in India get fair share of communal violence every now and then, some where or the other between Hindus and Muslims, full marks to Politicians.
However, I am grateful for your concern about my well being! ThanX.

James is very correct below. Actually, when compared to a lot of other groups in the world, it is used that way anyway, but to quote another FA poster "Why let facts get in the way of such a high and mighty opinion". Have a nice day!!!!
