And you would lose not only the lottery money but your home, car, insurance policy, everything for those were horrible airlines in their final 15-20 years, terrible management, even worse passenger care.
Chalet, I live in St. Louis and saw first hand the demise of TWA. TWA was a great airline in every way, until it was taken over by Carl Ican. He sold off everything the airline had that had any value. His more famous actions were to sell it's reservation system, international routes and sold aircraft the airline owned then leased them back. After it no longer had the assets to be profitable he let it fall into bankruptcy and be taken over by AA. Employees were doing their best with what they had to make TWA a success. If it hadn't been for Ican, TWA would be flying today.
Talk about lighting an Aviation match, just mention Carl Ican. His name is synonymous with a photo pf a vulture. Fortunately Doug Parker wants all these airlines (America West/US Air/AAL) to survive and become a new legacy.
Braniff was brought back once before. I'd pick PanAm - just something about flying those long hauls on 4 engines.
I did one to London once and it was probably one of the best flights I ever flew
Pan am, Braniff, Trans World Airlines
If I ever won the lottery please know that I would revive one of those aforementioned airlines
