LAX parking lot is home away from home for airline workers
Today, the colony has more than 100 residents -- mostly men -- from around the country, including captains, first officers, mechanics, flight attendants, support staff and employees of air cargo companies. (www.latimes.com) Más...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Having been there and done that (two households, though I never worked for an airline), I think the main motivation is that the LA vicinity has few affordable, decent places to live -- not a problem unique to aviation, and one that's not going away soon!
Railroaders complain about their nomadic existance and impossible hours, but these folks in the Airline industry have it even worse in a lot of respects.
