I have personally observed black plastic-wrapped pallets of LION electronics sitting in the Summer hot sun for hours in both DXB and SEL awaiting shipment/loading on cargo aircraft.
I'm surprised it took this long for the industry to take this more seriously. A few months ago at work I had to intervene on shipments for just ORM-D material. Most of it was domestic ground but some was going express international. We very rarely handle HAZMAT, but I keep certified. My boss didn't see the big deal behind it until I told him the fines we would get for improper shipping, lol.
What is ORM-D material?
You should know!
Other Regulated Material
And apparently no longer a thing,
