This forum/website should be about people who actually know about the industry. Otherwise, keep your un-informed, dumb-a** posts to a minimum, and let the people who are involved enjoy real forum conversation.
This is a BS "post" about nothing! I fly (THAT is I FLY as a Capt.) on normally sched. routes, that have any or all those numbers either in a row or otherwise. Look up any flight accidents the had "232" "5050" "1212" or any other combination, guess what... at some point, those numbers, 1-9 will be there! Geez, what a waste of time! This is NOT an aviation related article, and YES, I'm spending time responding to shut down the total BS that people "purport" to know anything about it to the general public or those of us actually in the industry! BTW, I also own a black cat, occasionally bet on the number 13, am afraid of leap year, and have evil monkeys living under my bed. NOT. Cope a clue.
Flight 191 which i posted on earlier really is a bad flight number, Delta 191 L-1011 Tristar, American Airlines 191 DC-10, Com Air 191 CRJ-100, now JetBlue 191. Thank god not being a crash but still. This flight number should never be used again.
Well, there was good came out of them regardless, in particular the DAL191. As a result of that one we got doppler and all the wind shear stuff. Some of these younger guys have never flown without that stuff, but you are right, as I said below, the numbers do need to go away.
I might add that Teddy Conners was a good friend. He was PIC on that one

Well, I got in a hurry and spelled his last name wrong, but he was a natural born flying machine. I remember listening to the ATC audio on his inbound; just sat and squalled about an hour. I was at DFW a day or so later and they were still poking over everything. It was hell having to come in over the top of that mess, knowing what had happened. what is really so sad is that it took something like that to put Doppler and all the other stuff we now take for granted on the fast track.
