Lakeland's First Direct Air Takes Off Smoothly
The first commercial flight in 23 years from Lakeland Linder Regional Airport was nearly everything a passenger would want: Only a few minutes late and a smooth takeoff. The Direct Air MD-88 plane with 62 passengers took off at 7:10 a.m. This morning for Myrtle Beach, S.C. It will return today at 2:45 p.m. from Hagerstown, Md. We were talking in my thread, the other day, about how apparently they would be using stairs to board the aircraft. According to the video, in the link you provided, there seems to be a portable jetway that people walk out to and board that way.
Oh shoot! You beat me to it.
