"Next time, try replying with "Thank you for keeping us all safe. I know you don't hear that enough." You have no idea the threats that are found every day, carried by ordinary people, but TSA cannot disclose it. "
They only disclose the worst. Plus, TSA didn't make anything safer. It made the number of road accidents actually INCREASE. Ok, the skies might be safer, but the roads aren't.

Complaining about a "Thank you"? Common courtesy? Alot of TSA officers are very nice. You sound like a grump.
And if TSA ever gets dismantled, becoming privately operated, it will be the same officers applying for those jobs...

Going thru security at EWR, I was totally surprised when the TSA agent said " THANK YOU " after looking at my boarding pass. I would be willing to bet that he is no longer employed by TSA. The TSA system does not want or use people that are courteous. Security in Europe is also strict but they do not have people with freezer level IQ's working their security counters.
Wait till they are unionized and will be promoted for such behavior! TSA is a total waste of time and money, another Federal program that exists to serve itself only, and of course add more Federal employees to the union ranks.
Yet another example of the way John Pistole runs the agency. Both the TSA officer, and his Supervisor, are part of the growing pack of thieves. Not surprising to see more stories of taxpayer's money being spent to steal from the traveling public, instead of protecting.
Pistole needs to be accountable and removed from his position.

I can't figure out the connection with road accidents and TSA, either.
