Bell 429 GlobalRanger (NAVY) - This is a Navy Sikorsky SH-3A SEA KING ;Search and Rescue (SAR) Helicopter landing at the NSA Hospital near DaNang Vietnam. jcatman60 - That's not a HH-3 Jolly Green Giant. This is the SH-3A Sea King helicopter. The Sikorsky HH-3 variant was operated by the Air Force and Coast Guard and had a rear fuselage ramp door. Sikorsky's SH-3 variants were primarily operated by the Navy and the Marines and did not have a ramp door at the rear of the fuselage. Both variants share much commonality, of course, and can look very similar at a distance.

Thanks for sharing the photo and thank you for your dedicated military service in Vietnam.

By the way, the Navy Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King in the foreground of this photo showing a formation of three (3) in flight just might be the same helicopter as you captured in your photo...
