Al Miller
First civilian C-130 I've seen.
Keith Brown
I don't know much about Coulson (other than they operate firefighting air tankers) but they sure seem to take pride in their aircraft, always a stunning livery!

Beautiful C-130 / Nic epic Jarrod.

So glad I saw their Martin Hawaii Mars (now retired) fly at Oshkosh like 5 years ago.

When was this photo taken? Wondering what route they took to get to Australia, I checked the flight log and for the last month this plane has been in Chile. I put up a post about Coulson last fall: https://pergelator.blogspot.com/2021/10/martin-mars.html

Al, you must be young. Southern Air Transport plus others I think, flew civilian -130's, I think they were L-100's.

The runway at YBLN Busselton has recently been extended out to 8,000 feet.
Richard Schmidt
Great shot and SAFAIR in South Africa has been a civilian operator since the early 70's
Larry Toler
Jeff Satterwhite, you are correct. Not many variants of the civilian L100 were produced. We used Southern Air L100's and 707's for cargo quite a bit when I enlisted in the USAF and stationed at RAF Mildenhall.
LM is finally going ahead with the new civilian L100J based on the C130J.
The civilian L100 are mostly based on C130E models with a lot of them stretched to hold 8 463L pallets as opposed to 6.
David Luddy
Delta Airlines operated 3 C-130’S in the early 70’s known as L-100’s. Operated as dedicated freighters
for a couple of years.

Keith Brown. Coulson's first C-130 was a mylar wrap, I can't say for sure this one is also, I assume it is. From my experience, Coulson does take good care of their Herc's.
Larry Toler your right about Southern Air using L-100's. They also used regular ex military C-130's. But Not just the Boeing 707. They had Douglas DC-8's and some of the DC-8 "Super 70 Series" Same aircraft but instead of just Pratt & Whitney JT-3 engines. It had GE CFM-56 engines. Plus Boeing 747-200's
