Great series of snaps, Ken. And if you have a minute and wouldn't mind enlightening me, I have question about the deicing fluids. (Someone told me once a long time ago but I've forgotten ....) I've seen green fluid, red fluid, and clear stuff used. What is the difference? And is the clear stuff just steam or is it a specific fluid? (Just spraying hot steam would be stupid since it would quickly freeze so the clear stuff has to be a third type of deicing fluid.) So what conditions dictate which kind of fluid (green, red/pink, or clear) gets used? And one final question ... When a pilot requests that the plane be deiced, does he/she also stipulate which type of fluid must be used? Or does she/he just take whatever is in the truck?
