Boeing 707-300 (PP-VLP)
Varig Airlines (Cargo) Flight, flying east bound from NRT to ANK and the Crew inserting Waypoints on the Omega Navigation System - 1985
Comments
We had Omega VLF (Very Low Frequency)Nav in the F28 in the mid 1980's. This was before GPS came into wide spread civilian use...a great shot in the Varig B707.
Hello Chris thank you so much for your comment, at that time it was difficult and laborious to insert 9 waypoint in omega each time and on the days of today is awesome much easier and fast with 2 GPS plus 3 Inertial..., you have the entire route and the destination on the Cockpit Preparation.
Thanks Jose. I remember that in Australia we hosted two VLF stations, one on the westcoast near Learmonth and another station about one hundred miles East of Melbourne. We carried the Global(series 3) Omega Nav system in the F28.
